Heart Of A REBELUTIONARY
The Rebelution was something that I only heard from the daughter of our pastor named Chloe. As based on her descriptions about such website, it really sounded too encouraging to join. One night, I decided to surf along the cyber plexus and searched for this THE REBELUTION thing. And my life as a teenager began to change when I finally cruised along its web pages.

A TEENAGE REBELLION

Rebellion of what? You may ask. I told myself that I'd been to rebellion my whole teenage life. I was once an activist fighting for the rights of my fellow students. I was more like a political activist since I was always found to scream along the streets rebuking the dirty way of the nations governance. But this "rebellion" is too far from what I used to believe.

The official definition of the 'rebelution' is "a teenage rebellion against the low expectations of an ungodly culture." When you look around today, in terms of godly character and practical competence, our culture does not expect much of us young people. We are not only expected to do very little that is wise or good, but we're expected to do the opposite. Our media-saturated youth culture is constantly reinforcing lower and lower standards and expectations.

The Rebelution

UPRISING AGAINST SOCIAL NORMS

Uprising - I'd been too much on this. But The Rebelution is making a stand to rebel or revolt against communal customs.

The word 'rebelution' is a combination of the words "rebellion" and "revolution." So it carries a sense of an uprising against social norms. But in this case, it's not a rebellion against God-established authority, but against the low expectations of our society. It's a refusal to be defined by our ungodly, rebellious culture. Actually, we like to think of it as rebelling against rebellion.

The Rebelution

THE BATTLE CRY

And this is one great battle we have. A battle where we believe we will be victorious!

The battle cry of The Rebelution is just three words, but it's an explosive concept: Do Hard Things. That's it. And "do hard things" is a mentality. It's a mentality that flies right in the face of our culture's low expectations.

The Rebelution

These were the very words I had read while surfing the whole page. It had brought a great challenge to me that even if I am just a young citizen of this country, I could make a change and I could create a great roar of faith.

I had sent the team an application form 'cause deep within me there cries that The Rebelution is what I've been looking for as a DREAM TEAM.

The Rebelution: Why do you want to join the Forum and how will you contribute to it?

Jazzy: God finally answered my prayer!!!

I'm so glad I've already found my "DREAM TEAM" and I believe this is really it - The Rebelution. I've been praying for it ever since God touched me with a desire of mobilizing the youth in pursuing their purpose here on earth. I firmly stand on your visions since I am one of you - small voices in this big world- who believe that God dressed us with our spiritual gifts as our armor. Yes, we may have a small voice, but with God's grace, this voice will create a ripple - a ripple that will spread throughout the land.

With shared visions, I could share my own views and insights to the team, as well as helping to push the initiative of the forum ahead. I believe God created us for a mission, and I'm so desperate to be part of it. I could spread the GOOD NEWS to my fellow Filipino youth who wished to join a forum as this, that they could also impart their own voices to the team.

God made the youth to be His knights that will assault sin as it creeps up on us from behind and subdue evil thoughts and unrighteous desires up front through a special weapon - the Word of God.

I want to rebel.

I WANT TO BE INVOLVED!!!
